Fred E. Ahlert (1892–1953) was an American composer and songwriter and an important figure of Tin Pan Alley. He wrote many enduring standards, including Mean to Me, I’ll Get By, Walkin’ My Baby Back Home and I’m Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter.
